Obituary of Valerio A. Veneri

Valerio "Val" Veneri, age 95, of Belmont Hills, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 23, 1929, the son of the late Paul and Angelina (Corona) Veneri.

Val was a lifelong resident of Belmont Hills, PA.  He was a parishioner of the former St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church and St. John Vianney Catholic Church.  Val retired after a long career as a Bus Driver for Lower Merion School District.  He loved music and was a talented dancer.  He was a car enthusiast and an avid Hudson Hornet expert.  Most of all, he loved his family. 

He was the husband of the late Mary R. Veneri (née Bisignaro). 

He is survived by two sons, Paul (Marybeth) Veneri of Penn Valley and Richard Veneri (Georgette) of Hazle Twp.; daughter, Valerie (Richard) Danze of Worcester; five grandchildren, Anthony (Amie), Jenna (Andrew), Lauren (Bobby), Richard (Gabrielle), and Natalie (Tom); and great granddaughter, Ava. 

Along with his wife and parents, Val was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Solimeo and Rita Griffin. 

His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM from St. Matthias Catholic Church, 128 Bryn Mawr Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.

Interment will take place in Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1500 Walnut Street, Suite 301, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
