I have known Val for over 50 years, I got to know Val through his son Paul, who is my best friend and also the whole family. Val and I had some pretty good laughs through the years. For Example, up at the Bus Garage parking lot, I would say to Val, how come you park your Monte Carlo way over there, and he would say I don't want anyone parking next to it in case someone opens their car door and puts a dent or scratches the car, and we would always have a pretty good laugh about that. Also, we would always have a good laugh about going to Consolo's Bakery in Manayunk to get rolls and stuff. So, with those memories, I will say, I love you Val and I'll miss all the good laughs we had. RIP.

My Uncle Val was one of the good ones! No matter how old I got he always called me SueSue - I will cherish that forever. One of my fondest memories was when I was in about 5th grade and we went on a field trip he was our bus driver. When we got back on the bus after lunch he said to me in front of all my friends “SueSue did you have schettis for lunch today”? Rest in Peace Uncle Val - you are now with your beloved Mary. Love you

I loved Uncle Val. He always talked about cars and as a young child, I would listen to him in awe. I still think about Uncle Val whenever I wash my car…he always had the cleanest one. Whenever he saw me he would say “Mr. Tur-tell!” in reference to a joke I told him 50 years ago. He loved that joke and never missed an opportunity to remind me. My favorite memory was when we shared the Host together. Mom and I were visiting Aunt Mary near the end of her life, and the Priest didn’t have enough for everyone, so Uncle Val and I split one. What an honor that was. Thankfully Valerie brought him to visit mom last year and I have a picture with Uncle Val from that day that I will cherish forever. I love you Uncle Val…and I will never forget you!! Xoxo.
