One of my earliest memories is of Uncle Jim finding me when I got lost while at one of the family picnics on the 4th of July. I was 3 yet I still remember seeing him hurrying down the street and feeling safe as soon as I saw him. Uncle Jim was always there with a kind word and a prayer when you needed it. He also gave great hugs - not something wimpy or half-hearted but a big strong crush-your-ribs kind of hug and you knew he meant it! I think what I will remember most though is how much he loved Aunt Marlene and Harry. Watching them was like watching a movie on what and how families should be. Yes they were close and loving but they had fun and teased each other and laughed! Despite all the hardships they endured - and there were so many - they faced it together with prayer, grace and a belief they could endure anything together. I will miss so many things: his voice - especially his laugh, the smell of his aftershave, his competitiveness, his wicked smartness but most of all the quiet way he lived by example loving his family and being there for all of us.

Uncle Jim was a beautiful, kind & loving man.He will always be remembered for his smile & soft caring words when he entered a room. He & Aunt Marlene had the kind of marriage that people envied. His love for his son was a beautiful thing to see ,because you could feel it yourself. To say he will be missed is an understatement. Love Always,Helen
