I was at my daughter Sara’s condo today and got a “ message” to give her $23 since tomorrow is her $23rd birthday. When we lived in PA, our sweet neighbor, Sally would always send the kids dollars for whatever birthday they were having . When we sat there thinking about her today, we googled her name to learn that sadly, she passed away in June. We called her Saint Sally because she really was heaven sent. We have so many great memories of her with the kids. She loved everyone’s kids! I think because she was a big kid at heart. She rode around the neighborhood on a big red bike with a basket on the front. She always had a smile and a warm hug and the best laugh!! She invited Sara for tea parties and I remember how she made me feel supported,always encouraging, telling me I was going a good job. As a new Mom that meant the world to me. She gave us books for the kids that became bedtime favorites. The world needs more Sallys. I’m gonna do my best to be a bit like Sally. ❤️ Rest in Peace Sally Higgs.

This was my aunt. My father was her brother. Francis Leroy Higgs. Her mother Catherine was my grandmother. She also had another brother James Anthony Higgs (Andy)
