Obituary of Michael W. Castaldi

Michael W. Castaldi, age 80, of Philadelphia, PA, on Monday, March 4th, 2024.

Michael was born (January 31, 1944) in West Philadelphia to his loving, hardworking parents, Felix and Helen Castaldi.  He was one of 11 children that were raised in a traditional Catholic family.  He attended West Catholic High School for boys and went on to graduate from St. Joseph’s University.  Michael served his country in the Army Reserves for over a decade.  Michael was married in 1970 to his dear wife, Theresa for 38 years.  Theresa passed away in 2008 and now may they be together forever.

Michael is survived by his children and grandchild.  He leaves behind Michele Bennett (Robert, husband), Stephen Castaldi (Julie, wife) and Amy Castaldi (Grace, daughter).  He is also survived by his brothers Thomas Castaldi (Lois, wife) and Dr. Richard Castaldi (Betsy, wife), as well as a large extended family.  Michael will peacefully join his wife and the rest of his family already in heaven.

Michael’s first calling was to his family, as a husband, father, brother and son.  He cherished his wife.  He loved his children.  Michael was extremely loyal to family.  Michael worked hard to achieve and conquered many life goals, both personally and professionally.  Michael had many triumphs as a man, yet he preferred to triumph as a family man.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 13th at 11:00 AM at St. Helena RC Church, 1489 DeKalb Pike & Yost Road, Blue Bell, PA 19422. There will be a viewing on Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 E. Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401 (610) 277-1600 and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.  Interment: Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
