I first met Rodger in 1972 on the job site that we were auditing for an IU International acquisition in Plymouth Meeting. He would the Manager for the engagement. We worked closely together for about 2 years on various projects for IU all over the world. My favorite engagement was 6 weeks in Brazil. We had great weekends on the beach in Rio De Janeiro. We became close friends both on and off the job. We would often go out to dinner together. Our relationship was closely tied to IU International for about 14 years. (1972 - 1985).
He was a great boss and a caring friend who would do anything he could to help you. I feel bad that I let life and work separate our friendship. I will always think of Rodger in the most kind and happy matter.
I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, God Bless.

I can remember meeting Rodger the first day that we moved into Springhouse. He was in flip-flops and standing in the Driveway watching as we moved in. I liked him immediately and we have been friends since that day in August 1983. He always remained the same through all life’s struggles and adventures. He was loyal to all and would tell you that he was not a good golfer but I witnessed many incredible golf shots and putts that anyone could be proud of. I will miss him and will
Never be able to go to Phil’s Tavern without fondly remembering Rodger.

To say I am shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Rodger doesn’t begin to describe my feelings of loss and grief. Rodger and I have been friends for over 30 years and I remember of first introduction as though it was yesterday. Although it was a business conversation Rodger greeted me warmly, was gracious, totally considerate and within a short period of time it seemed as thought we had been friends for years. Of course it didn’t take us long to get “off subject” and begin talking about golf, favorite restaurants, libations and when we found we were compatible politically … that was the beginning of a wonderful and valued friendship.
We met frequently both in the Philadelphia area and when he would visit here in the Central PA region. Iron Valley golf course was our favorite spot during the summer months. Golfing with Rodger was a delight and there were more laughs than pars. Our last round included my wife, Beverly, and our daughter, Karen. One of our happiest times was when he and Ellen would find themselves in the Hershey community and then drive to the Glass Lounge in Harrisburg where we all met for dinner. What a joyful experience that always was with Rodger contributing more than his fair share of jokes and merriment.
Curiously, I spoke with Rodger about two weeks ago and we had a very serious conversation about current events and shared personal thoughts and concerns. At that time he indicated how badly he was feeling but who could have known the seriousness of his illness. We did manage a few laughs and ended our discussion on a positive note saying we would get together for dinner as soon as possible. Without a doubt the man to whom I was speaking was the same “old Rodger” gregarious, witty, charming, compassionate and warm as a ray of sunlight. And I believe that will be his everlasting legacy — the ray of sunshine that penetrates our hearts and sousl on even the most difficult of days — when his name and memory are remembered and honored.
My dear, dear and close friend, Rodger Wichterman, has left us but not without leaving behind an unequalled record of kindness, sensitivity for others and a loving heart that is now at rest and peace. Rodg, Americans don’t really have an appropriate word for “good-bye” but perhaps the French do: au revoir … “we’ll meet again.” And so we shall. With love, Fritz, Beverly and Karen

No words explain the sadness I feel at the loss of my dear cousin Rodger. We shared a lifetime of wonderful family events and celebrations. All my love to Beth and Chris as they cope with this tremendous loss and to Ellen, his faithful and loving wife and partner. May you find comfort knowing he lived a wonderful life and never passed up the opportunity to share his big heart and graciousness. Rodger has a permanent and loving place in my heart that will last forever. R.I.P. dear cousin. We'll meet again. Your loving cousin, Edythe Edwards
