How can I describe Larry?? He was always so kind and would do anything for you. He was my daughter's 2nd dad all through elementary school. He treated my daughter Kelly like she was his as we did with Jennifer. I was blessed to have met Rita on Jen's first day of kindergarten, We developed a very close friendship. I did get to see him recently and he looked great. Not a care in the world. God bless Rita and the whole family. I certainly hold Larry and Rita and their beautiful family close to my heart. Dear Rita and the Gunn Family: I am saddened to learn of Larry’s passing. I served and lived with Larry for 13 months in South Korea. Larry was our moral compass for 13 months living under difficult conditions. He was a soldier that could be counted on and always had a positive attitude and a friendly smile. Everyone that worked and lived with Larry held him in the highest esteem and respected his moral character, technical knowledge. He was a real soldier. I remember how excited he was to return home and be with you for Christmas of 1970. I’m sure it pained him to leave you and return to Korea but his respect for honor and country is the mark of a man of character and dignity and would never consider doing anything less than what was expected of him. All that were blessed with sharing time with Larry will consider it an honor and privilege to have been a part of his life. Respectfully, MSG Edward Houle (USA RET)
