Someone just informed me of the news............ I have been in Wisconsin the last 16 years, and have not seen Ray in 2 decades. He was truly another older brother to me , coached me 2 years in CYO, help guide me through my college years at LaSalle, while also coaching with him in Plymouth basketball. I learned so much from Ray.
One of the highlights of mine was attending his wedding ................ he was so happy and he and Debbie made a great pair, and obviously later super family
As I started writing this I have sad emotions, but am smiling thinking of all the fun, and outstanding memories, and the great family which will continue the legacy!

Words cannot express the sorrow that I feel for you. Our loving Creator knows how hard this is on you, losing a loved one. We are told at Ezekiel 18:32 “I do not take any pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord.” As you can see, He does not like death any more than we do. It is not his will for us to die which is why He has given us the hope of everlasting life! (Rev 21:3,4). As the God and Father of tender mercies, He wants you to find comfort in Him through prayer. Debbie and family,
Maureen and I wanted to express our deepest condolences to you all during this difficult time. You were the first family to welcome us to the neighborhood when we moved in across the street a few years ago, and you and Ray have done nothing but make us feel welcome ever since. From the batch of cookies you offered us on our move in day, to the quick smiles and waves hello as we would see you walking the dog each morning, your kindness has been ever present. We offer our prayers to you all during this trying time; please know that we are here for you if you need anything at all.
Sincerely,
Scott and Maureen O'Connell

Worked with Ray at Corestates Bank when he first arrived as a trainee and therefore as he advanced as an executive. Just a great person to work with and share time in the financial world. Sorry for your loss! Ken B.

I had the pleasure of coaching basketball with Ray and John Sikorski. Ray was right out of Villanova and a wonderful young man. We spent about 6 years together and had many great wins (with a few losses) and funny times. Any time we saw each other we would joke about our great memories associated with Plymouth Jr. ABA.
Ray was simply put a "really good person" and the youngsters he coached admired and respected him. My condolences to the entire family. I hope that the memories, pictures, stories and friends help with the tough days ahead.

My sincere sympathy to Debbie and family in the loss of Ray.
We worked together at AFS and he was always pleasant, professional, thorough, courteous, and helpful
in our dealings day to day. So very sorry to hear he had such a battle.
May the best memories of good times bring some comfort to you. May those memories and the good things he brought to all of you be eternal.

Although I never had the pleasure of knowing Ray personally, I heard about what an extraordinary person he was through Debbie and Colleen. I know that he will be dearly missed and that the healing process will take time; however, if there is anything that I can do that would be helpful, please call. I'm available.
With much affection, Barbara Winnick

Dear Debbie and Hufnagel Family -
I cannot tell you how shocked and saddened I was to hear the news of Ray's passing. This sounds so crazy, but after all these years since our time together at CoreStates, I was just thinking of him and you both a few weeks ago! My 13 year old son rediscovered all my old "Calvin and Hobbes" cartoon collection books. I was leafing through them and it made me think of all the laughs Ray and I shared over that comic strip and the stories he would share about your own little "Calvin" when he was a toddler. Reading of how Ray brought smiles to the hospital staff did not surprise me at all. Please know that you will all be in my prayers.

Words can not begin to describe how sorry I am for your loss. Ray was a great man and great neighbor. I will never forget Debbie and Ray coming over our new home to meet us when we moved into the neighborhood. Debbie and Ray made us feel so welcome 10 years ago. I will surely miss seeing Ray walking Murphy or watering his lawn. He always had a smile on his face and always stopped to say hello on his walk. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Fred and I are here if you need anything at all. Ray will surely be missed. Heaven received a beautiful angel to watch over you.
Love, Cathy Esslinger
