Obituary of John C. Salopek

John C. "Jack" Salopek, age 82, of Limerick, PA passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021.
 
He was born in Duquesne, PA on October 16, 1938, the son of the late George and Mildred (nee Pupich) Salopek.  
 
Jack has been living in Limerick since 2004, formerly of Aurora, CO and Bethel Park, PA.  He was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church.  Prior to his retirement, Jack worked as a Ramp Serviceman with United Airlines for 35 years.  Jack was an avid Pirates baseball and Steelers football fan.  He enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee, playing cards, and trips to casinos to play blackjack and slots.  He also enjoyed playing bocce in his community at William Penn Villas.  
 
He honorably served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic.  
 
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Anne Salopek (nee Krakovsky); son, Mark Salopek (& Lori); three daughters, Kim Kirkpatrick (& Jim), Jacqueline Young, and Jennifer Newton; three brothers, Thomas (& Marie) Salopek, David (& Sandi) Salopek, and Robert (& Oran) Salopek; four grandchildren, Jessica Matthews, Nick Matthews, Trevor Newton, and  Taylor Newton; and great grandson, Jace Voorhis. 
 
Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. 
 
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426.
 
His Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM in St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA 19473.
 
Interment will be private.
