Katherine P. " Kay" Ely    

Katherine P. Ely, 91, of Norristown, PA passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021.

She was born in Chicago, Il on November 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Rufus and the late Dorothy ( Gilmore ) Phillips.

Kay has been living in Dresher for the last year, formerly of Honeybrook and East Norriton.

She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church of Norristown, Pa. 

She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1949.  Kay served in The US Army where she received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.  She was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and developed into a Phillies fan later in life.  She enjoyed bowling, playing the French horn and was known as a talented knitter.

She worked as a Computer Programmer with Unisys. 

She was the wife of the late Henry S. "Hal" Ely.

Survivors include, Son Donald G. (& Dianna) Ely of Clyde, NC, Son James E. (& Rose) Ely of Norristown, Pa, Son Andrew C. (& Nina) Ely of Norristown, Pa, also survived by 6 Grandchildren D. Phil Ely, Andi Ely, Becky Pendergast, Chris Ely, Sarah Strauss and Clare Ely, and 7 Great Grandchildren. 

Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM from All Saints Episcopal Church, 535 Haws Avenue, Norristown, PA.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the church. 

Due to present health concerns, wearing masks and practicing social distancing in church are required.

Interment will follow at Valley Forge Gardens of King of Prussia, Pa.
