I will miss Uncle Roger. He was, by far, my most favourite uncle. I am very happy, though, that he was able to meet my wife Aretha and son Micah when we came on our visits from Australia where we live. He was the photographer for our wedding in 2013, which was held at my Dad's house in Colton's Point, Maryland. The photo is of him at that wedding (L-R: Leslie Binns, Uncle Roger, 'Jimmy James Shawn' Moore).
One of the many memories I have of him, Aunt Dot and the rest of the Binns girls was when I was maybe 6 or 7 they came to visit. I think they were living in Buffalo, NY at the time, but I could be wrong. But I know it was a long drive for them. They evidently arrived sometime in the middle of night. Since this was rural Maryland and in the mid 1960s, we never locked the house. When we woke up we found a note taped to the banister of the steps leading up to the bedrooms. It was from Uncle Roger et al. They had arrived when we were all asleep and didn't want to wake us so left a note and went off to a hotel (presumably in Leonardtown). For some reason I thought that was SO COOL. We hardly ever traveled anywhere and certainly not through the night. It seemed so Exotic. So Adventurous. So ... well, yes, Uncle Rogerish. At least to my eyes.
He was such a good soul. The world is a little less good with his passing.

Our condolences to Stephanie, Leslie, Jessica and the family. Roger and Dorothy were great a Dear friends of ours. We shared many dinners and recipes together. Our trips to NY Seneca area for wine tastings were rewarded with bringing back too many cases of wine. Our trips were opportunities to get to know each other better and enjoy dinners together. Trips to the Utah canyons, across the Panama Canal. California, PR, and so many more. We were happy to see the picture of both of them,I took, on our cruise. To see them enjoy dancing together was to see perfect happiness! They were completely committed to the library at St Martin of Porres in Philadelphia. We’ve loss good people who will live in our hearts. Rest In Peace Roger, but we know you are happy because you are holding the hand of your beloved D.
