Obituary of Francesca Gina Boccella

Francesca "Gina" Boccella, age 82, of Norristown, PA passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020.

She was born in Agrigento, Sicily,. Italy on May 4, 1938, the daughter of the late Antonio and Catarina ( Venezia ) Bacino.  

Gina was a longtime resident of Norristown.  She lived on Airy Street before moving in 1962 to High Street in the Norris Hills neighborhood, where she and her late husband Joseph raised their family.  She was a member of St. Paul's RC Church.  Gina was an avid gardener who had an amazing display of roses.  She was and incredible chef and loved to feed family and friends alike with her uniquely Sicilian dishes. She devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.  

She was the wife of the late Joseph Boccella, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Michael (& Sue) Boccella of Lower Pottsgrove; daughter, Sylvana (& Chris) Cottone of Wayne; son, Joseph (& Jennifer) Boccella of Skippack; and brother, Nino (& Anna) Bacino of Riberia, Sicily.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Dylan, Payton, Isabelle, Joseph III, Samuel, Benjamin, Michael Jr. and Roman; as well as many nieces and nephews both in Italy and in the states.  

Along with her husband and parents, Gina was preceded in death by her sister, Nicoletta Venezia.  

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 10:00 AM from St. Paul's RC Church, 2007 New Hope Street, Norristown, PA 19401.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday morning from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at the Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Norristown.

Entombment will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Norriton, PA.
