Obituary of Phyllis I. McFarland

Phyllis I. McFarland, age 90, of Norristown, PA passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 23, 1929, the daughter of the late William H. and  Constance (Smith) Muesse.

Phyllis was a lifelong resident of the Audubon and Norristown area.  She was a former member of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church.  Prior to her retirement, she worked as a Clerk at the Montgomery County Courthouse.  Phyllis spent her later years living in the Rittenhouse School Apartments in Norristown.  She enjoyed reading and was a talented seamstress and cook.  Phyllis was also interested in learning about her English heritage and traveled to England to trace her family tree in 1988. 

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (& Jim) Wilkinson of East Norriton; son, James W. (& Geri) McFarland of North Wales; five grandchildren, Cole, Jimmy, Ryan, Nicole, and Tommy (Janet); and four great grandchildren, Nadia, Max, Robbie, and Zoee.  

Along with her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, James W. McFarland; son, Robert A. McFarland; sister, Jane Eberle; and brothers, Fred  and William Muesse.   

Services and interment will be private in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA.   

In lieu of flowers, Phyllis’ family would appreciate memorial contributions made in her name to Food For The Poor, Inc., 6401 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, Florida 33073.
