The Rev. Robert M. Bauers  

The Rev. Robert M. Bauers, age 98, died Tuesday Morning January 14, 2020.

Born July 24, 1921, Magnolia NJ.

Robert graduated from Muhlenberg College, BA, 1943, Lutheran Theological Seminary, Mt. Airy, Philadelphia. M. Div., 1945 and

Bryn Mawr College, MSS, 1951.

Pastor, of Faith Lutheran Church at the Lutheran Settlement House Philadelphia, 1946-1949.

Director, Lutheran Inner Mission Society of Brooklyn (New York).

Merged with other agencies to become Lutheran Social Services (New York) and then Lutheran Community Service (New York), 1951-1975.

After leaving Lutheran Community Services he was in private social work practice and held positions at The Marienheim of Brooklyn, and The College for Human Services (NYC).

He was husband of the Late Eleanor Dorothy ( Wolfe ) Bauers.

Survived by daughter Christina M. Bauers, son John C. Bauers (Alena), daughter Miriam E. Bauers (Kurt), grandson Jason R. Bauers, nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be on Saturday January 18, 2020 at 10.30 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion, 2110 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.

There will be a visitation at the church beginning 9:30 AM.
