Obituary of Salvatore A. Picardi
Salvatore A. Picardi
Salvatore A. Picardi, 84, of Conshohocken, Pa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
He was born in Norristown, Pa on July 12, 1935, the son of the late Pasquale Charles and the late Josephine (Tancredi) Picardi.
Sal lived in Louisiana for the last 8 years. Previously he resided in Woodbine, NJ, but spent the majority of his life in Conshohocken, Pa.
Sal served in the Army during the Korean War, where he received the Good Conduct Medal. He was accepted into the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School where he obtained a degree in Accounting and Finance. He worked as an accountant and realized his true calling was in mechanics. He became an Auto Mechanic for Mercedes Benz until his retirement.
Sal loved all sports, and devoted much of his time to softball as a player, a coach, and an umpire. He volunteered as a coach for St. Matthew's CYO boys baseball team. He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. He was a member of B.P.O.E., Elks Lodge, Bridgeport, Pa.
Sal was an amazing father to his three children. He was lovingly devoted to his grandchildren, and everyone in his family. He was a true example of a family man, and genuinely loved by everyone who knew him.
Sal was the husband of the late Elizabeth Anne (Wertz) Picardi. They were married for 52 years before she passed in 2011.
Surviving family include, Son, S. Charles (Kathleen) Picardi of West Norriton, Daughter Ellen (Earl) Harrison of Conshohocken, Daughter Paula (David) Morgan of Royersford, Sister Marie Perone of Royersford. He is also survived by his Grandchildren, Braden Charles (Emily) Picardi, Michael Pennock Augustine, Jr., and David Connor Morgan. He also survived by a loving brother in law, Joseph, and his wife Penny Wertz, his niece Kelly (Jeff) Tulish and nephew Daniel Wertz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Picardi and a sister Caroline Denczi.
His Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 9, 2019 at
10:30 am by Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.
There will be a visitation before the service on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
