Obituary of Lorraine A. Nedza

Lorraine A. Nedza, age 94, of Phoenixville, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Brandywine Living At Upper Providence.

Lorraine was born in West Haven, CT on October 13, 1924, a daughter of the late John and Julia (Tyrka) Bonewicz.  

Lorraine served in the Navy Nursing Cadet Corps during World War II and graduated from St. Raphael's Hospital with her RN in Nursing.  

Lorraine and her husband Don lived in Furlong, PA before moving to Sanford, NC where they lived in the Carolina Trace community for 28 years.  They have been residents of Brandywine Living at Upper Providence since September 2017.  Lorraine was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church of Doylestown, PA and St. Stephen's Church of Sanford, NC.  She was also a member of Doylestown Country Club and Carolina Trace Country Club.  Lorraine loved garden clubs and was a member of the Shrinking Violets Club.  She was active in women's golf and also enjoyed playing bridge.  Lorraine's greatest joy was as a wife, mother and homemaker.  

Survivors include her beloved husband, Donald A. Nedza of Phoenixville, PA;

two daughters, Meredith Harvey of Royersford, PA and Connie ( & Pete) Gallagher of Collegeville, PA;

sister, Irene North;

seven grandchildren, Jessa, Matthew (& Amy), Ned ( & Diana) Lucy ( & Jon), Sam ( & Olivia), Jacob and Julia;

as well as ten great grandchildren, Berea, Ben, Joel, Skylar, Jocelyn, Zachary, Eleanor, Judah, Delaney and Esme.    

Lorraine is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Along with her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.  

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 23 at 12 Noon from St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA 19473.  Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday morning from 11:00 to 11:45 AM at the Church.  

Interment will be private at a later date in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
