Dear Steven and family, I met your Mom in the mid eighties, when I was a German Au pair in Chestnut Hill. In my memory your mother is a very warm and cheerful woman (just like mine, by the way, age 83). Rita welcomed me in her house when I was young and very far away from my home for the first time, so I very much enjoyed her hospitality. I was introduduced by her children Steven (who also met my Mom when my parents visited - Kohlrouladen, Cabbage meat balls, remember?) and Laura, as far as I remember we met at a college football game. Or was it baseball? Finally the Monkeys played. Tonight I watched a German/French Television channel with a documentary about Kate Bush. Years ago I gave her album to Steven as a birthday gift. I have wonderful memories of the times we spent at your home with your mother and siblings and dogs, and also in Atlantic City. And later with Fred in Philadelphia. Because of that I did some research in the internet. Here I have the unexpected chance to send you my deepest sympathy. The last of the great Bono sisters. I have wonderful and fond memories of spending time with Aunt Rita and her family. She was so loving and kind. She seemed to bring out the best in a person. Such a great mom, sister, aunt and friend. And the best listener. I loved hearing her stories. Along with others, we shared great laughs and great food! I was blessed to have her in my life. We will all miss her dearly. She is now reunited with our many loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Aunt Rita will always be in our hearts. God bless all of you, and may you find comfort in her loving memories.

My sister Jean was married to George Jerome Gardocki who, I believe, was your cousin. Jean died in 2021 and I found Gardocki photos and memories (some old photos from the 1920's).
