Obituary of Lawrence Newman
Lawrence Newman, age 91, of Limerick, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Frederick Living.
Lawrence was born in Yonkers, New York on Monday October 3, 1927, the son of the late Abraham and Bessie Newman.
He has been living in Limerick for 21 years, formerly of Mountain Top, PA, and Yonkers, NY.
Lawrence honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He attended NYU under the GI bill and was the first member of his family to attend college.
Lawrence worked as a Certified Public Accountant and was a member of both the PA and NY Socities of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He was past president of the Hazleton Rotary where he was a proponent of women being included.
Larry enjoyed collecting stamps and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Eleanor Newman (nee Altobelli);
two daughters, Diane Alexander and Laura ( & Gerd) Naydock
