Obituary of James T. Modica

James T. Modica, 71, of Norristown, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.

Born in Norristown, PA on Thursday, January 2, 1947, he was the son of the late Augustus and Margaret (Taormina) Modica.

 

James owned and operated Chinique Hair Salon in East Norriton, and later relocated to Blue Bell, PA, for 30 years and continued to work in the industry servicing long time clients and barbering in local shops.

 

He was an avid golfer who loved and enjoyed his time spent as a member of Plymouth Country Club for many years and loved most of all spending time with his family.

 

Jim better known as “Jimmy” to most friends, loved all Philly sports, but most passionately his Philadelphia Eagles.

 

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia A. (DiGregorio) Modica, and their children, Jeannine Modica and Danielle (Peter) Modica-Jones. He is also survived by the loves of his life, grandchildren, Marina and Brody. Siblings, Frances Candelor and David Modica both of Norristown, along with sisters in-law and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Modica.

 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim’s life on Monday, October 8th  at 10:30 AM with a visitation from 9:00 to10:30 AM at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401.

Services will be officiated by The Rev. Jonathan Rushik, (Pastor J. R.) from  Storehouse Church in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
