Obituary of Joseph John DeSantis
of Conshohocken, Pa. passed away peacefully at Montgomery Hospital in Norriston, Pa. surrounded by his loving family on Friday July 13, 2012, he was 79. A lifelong Conshohocken resident, he was the loving husband of 56 years of Marie (Miles) DeSantis. He was employed with the former Alan Wood Steel, Sampo Corporation and Proctor and Gamble.
He was a 1951 graduate of the former St. Matthew's High School and he attended Pierce Business School. He was a Corporal with the US Army, serving with the 5th Infantry Division in Germany from 1953-1955.He was a member and Usher of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and the Andrew Lanutti Post of Conshohocken. He was a life member and past President of the Plymouth Country Club. An Avid and skilled Golfer, he was a member of the Regimental Golf Team in Germany. He enjoyed playing golf at numerous Coarses alon the East & West Coast. He also enjoyed golfing in Ireland and Hawaii. He was a member for many years of the Philadelphia Golf Association and he , also, served as an assistant coach of the Golf Program at Gemantown Acadamy. He often said that one of the greates accomplishments in Golf was to shoot a score of your age, which he achieved when he was 75. He won numeruos Tournament awards and recorded six hole in ones.
Joseph John was affectionately called "Angel", "Mayor" & "Godfather" by his many friends.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father and Grandfather & Great Grandfather.
