Obituary of Melvin B. Mann, Jr.

Melvin B. "Benny" Mann Jr. of East Norriton, Pa., passed away at home after a short illness on Friday, May 31, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was 69. Born in Clearfield, Pa., on Jan. 31, 1944, he was the son of the late Melvin B. and Madeline M. (Boyle) Mann Sr. Benny had been residing in East Norriton Twp., Pa., since 1955, when his family moved from Clearfield, Pa. He was a Vietnam era veteran of the United States Army. He had a great love of dogs and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a retired custodian with the Norristown Area School District. He previously was employed with E. J. Lavino Company of Plymouth Twp. He is survived by three sisters, Carolyn M. Carfagno of Dubois, Pa., Margaret "Peggy" J. (Ron) Mathias of Pottstown, Pa., and Rebecca L. "Becky" (Pat) Montowski of Dubois, Pa.; 12 nieces and nephews; and 12 great-nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Benny on Wednesday evening, June 5, 2013, at 7:30 P.M. at the Moore, Snear & Ruggerio Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton. The Rev. Ronald P. Vallette will be officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private at Crown Crest Memorial Park, Clearfield, Pa.
