Lawrence has been living in Blue Bell since 1964 He worked with the Pennsylvania, Penn Central, & Conrail Railroads retiring in 1987. He served on the Plymouth Township Home Rule Committee and Plymouth Township zoning board He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church and founding Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Epiphany Council # 10605, also Past District Deputy, and served on the Delaware Valley 3rd Degree Team. He also served in the US Navy during World WarII He enjoyed many years as a boat owner at Somers Point, NJ A member of Philmont Ham Radio Club

Obituary of Lawrence J. Clifford

Lawrence J. Clifford, 87, of Blue Bell, a retired freight rate manager, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Einstein Montgomery Hospital, East Norriton, Pa.

He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on July 14, 1925, son of the late Frank Clifford, M.D., and Theresa (Gans) Clifford, and had lived in Blue Bell since 1964.

He worked with the Pennsylvania, Penn Central, & Conrail railroads, retiring in 1987. He served on the Plymouth Township Home Rule Committee and Plymouth Township Zoning Board.

He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church and founding Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Epiphany Council # 10605, also Past District Deputy, and served on the Delaware Valley 3rd Degree Team for the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Philmont Ham Radio Club.

He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He enjoyed many years as a boat owner at Somers Point, N.J.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (Cunningham), Blue Bell, Pa.; daughter Mary (John ) DiRosato, West Norriton, Pa.; son Richard Clifford, West Norriton, Pa.; sister Jane Clifford, Sylvania, Ohio; granddaughter :Stephanie DiRosato, West Norriton, Pa.; and grandsons Michael DiRosato of Baton Rouge, La., and Christopher DiRosato of West Norriton, Pa. He is also survived by three stepsons, Jim Massing, Steve (Susan) Massing, and Paul (Amy) Massing; and a step-grandson, Christopher Massing.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Fobel) Clifford; a son, Patrick Clifford; and a stepson, Pat Massing.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. from the Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church, 3050 Walton & Township Line Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.

 

Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church.

Interment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Conshohocken, Pa.
