Obituary of Mark D. Perry

Mark David Perry of Conshohocken, PA died at home on Friday May 25, 2018 under the care of his trusted sister Debra and the inspiring assistance of Main Line Home Health and Hospice Care. He was born at Women's Medical Center on Henry Avenue in Philadelphia, PA on March 24, 1963, the last child born to the late Grace Darling Waite Perry of Trenton, NJ and Paul Edmund Perry, Jr. of Des Moines, IA. As the only son and brother, his birth generated much excitement. Mark grew up in the family home ("Longview") on Barren Hill Road. He attended Spring Mill Elementary School and Plymouth-Whitemarsh Middle and High School before serving in the United States Air Force, where he received his GED before his discharge in 1982. Mark was a life-long self-employed construction contractor and skilled craftsman who expected perfection of himself and everyone who worked for and with him. Survivors include his five sisters: Karen.Finley (West Chester, PA); Judith Hartwell (Ft. Myers, FL); Belinda Perry (Sarasota, FL); Debra Perry Lockwood (Philadelphia – Manayunk/Wissahickon); and, Paula Gilpin (Riverbank, CA). He is also survived by six nieces and nephews and nine grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and three cousins: Bob Case (Seattle, WA): Steven Case (Thailand); and David Adams (Etna, NH). Visitation will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home in Conshohocken, followed by a Celebration of Live service at noon. The Rev. Cheryl Pyrch of Summit Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia (West Mounty Airy) will serve as Officiating Pastor. The repast and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers and in recognition of the part his dog Hope played in his life and while receiving hospice care at home, contributions may be made online or by mail to: SPCA of Mongomvery County, 19 E.
