She was an avid reader, especially Agatha Christie novels. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and was referred to fondly as Gram.

Mary J. ( Manning ) Chmelko, 89, of Norristown, PA passed away on Wednesday May 9, 2018. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 9, 1928. Mary has been living at Regina Nursing Center since 2009, formerly of the Olney section of Philadelphia. She was a homemaker who also worked with Sears on the Boulevard in Philadelphia, PA. She was an avid reader, especially Agatha Christie novels. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and was affectionately known as Gram. Daughter of the late James & Josephine Manning. Beloved wife of the late Milan Chmelko. Survivors include her Son: John Chmelko Plano TX Son: Francis Chmelko Conshohocken PA Son: David Chmelko Conshohocken PA Also survived by 4 Grandchildren: Ty, Rachel, Emily & Christopher. Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by 2 sons William & Timothy Chmelko, and 3 sisters Helen "Nellie" Gallagher, Kathryn "Kay" Leonard & Patricia Breen. Her Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 10:30 AM from the St. Matthew's RC Church, Third & Fayette Streets, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Fr. J. Thomas Heron will be officiating. Friends may call on Monday Morning from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at the Church. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
