Hey, this is Nick from Lakeville, Minnesota. I think Joe might have mentioned me to you guys a few times. He and I used to play a lot of video games together, especially in the years 2012-2016. Around the end of that time period, my lifestyle was changing and I was playing a lot less video games, which unfortunately meant that we didn't play together nearly as often.
Even though we didn't play together anymore, I'd still message Joe every once in a while to see what's up and how he's doing. Lately I hadn't heard back from him in a long time, so I Googled his name to see if I could find what he's up to. Unfortunately I found this instead.
I consider Joe one of my best friends during those years. Almost every day we'd talk for hours on end while each doing our own thing or playing games together. We'd run dungeons in Runescape, play doubles in Rocket League, build and explore in Terraria and Minecraft, survive for hours in Killing Floor 2 and Call of Duty zombies, and so much more. Oh man we played a lot of games together. We watched Twitch streams and TV shows together too - Better Call Saul, The Flash, and The Arrow. We'd get the videos queued up and count down from three to start them at the same time. Heck we'd even call while doing our homework. If I was at my computer, there was a very good chance I was in a call with Joe.
Joe's companionship over those years meant a lot to me, more so than I can manage to put into words here. Staying up into the late hours of the night wouldn't have been the same without him. We shared a lot of stories, laughs, and late nights over the years, and I will always remember them. I'm sorry for your loss.
