Nancy and family. the passing of Billy saddens me as well as many of his/our classmates. Please allow me the opportunity to express my admiration. Billy had many friends, including me. We were close in our companies, F2 and H2. Therefore we had a lot of classes together. We were also close in the alphabet and therefore close in formations, including summer training. I teased him about his Brooklyn accent. He teased me about my Missouri/Ozark accent. But we also played 150s together. Bill was quarterback and I was his center. As you know we went undefeated and won the championship our senior year. Nancy, I am really glad we all got together for the reunion two years ago. I hope it comforts you and your family to know that Billy was special to many of us. I am sorry for your/our loss. Travis Morrison

Bill and I played on the 1971 base ball team and was F2 our West Point Company. Billy was a great athlete and he was often teasing me in good spirit to step up and deliver as a pitcher. I learned a lot from Billy and have many great memories.

Bill was a friend to so many & loved. He was a brother to me. Playing on our local Over '40 Baseball Team was a special memory. We traveled to AZ to play in a Senior Men's Baseball Tournament. We will always cherish his spirit & fight, his unselfish consideration of others & his passion while serving as a true American Patriot & Soldier. He was a genuine GIANT among men, loved his family deeply & was always willing to lift up others in their time of need. We salute you Bill for a Job Well Done! Carol & Gary Miller

I was lucky enough to be a classmate of Billy's, the class of West Point 1971. We were also team mates on the Sprint football team.
In addition to football, he was the starting pitcher on the varsity baseball team. Without a doubt, one of the most talented athletes in our class. As important, if not more, was that Billy was a true friend to all...upbeat, ready to support, always with a friendly smile...a giver not a taker.
For those who knew him at school, and those of us who remained close since, he will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Billy.

My memory of Bill is one of an unquenchable Irish smile. He had a unique laugh that was wholehearted and genuine. We both were from Brooklyn and Bill was a year behind me at USMA. I have followed his family interactions and that same smile persisted. Sorry for your loss of a truly fine man. I am saddened.

Bill was one of the most inspiring classmates in our West Point Class of 1971. Through all of the rain and the wind and the hardships of military training, you could always count upon Bill's hearty smile to help all of us to carry on. I will always be inspired by his huge and courageous heart. The size of the fight and of the humor in Bill made him one of the West Point Brotherhood whom we all loved. Bob Litchfield, Attorney, Author, College Professor, West Point Class of 1971.

Please know that Bill was a friend and mentor to me both professionally and personally. Bill coached me through the job maze as I was leaving the Army and helped me through a rough patch in my divorce. As we were both former Army Baseball players, Bill recruited me to play with the Abington A’s. I was his catcher.
