Obituary of Jerome J. Entenman

Jerome J. Entenman "Jerry", age 76, of Ambler, PA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

He was born in Norristown, PA on December 18, 1948, the son of the late William and Margaret (DeHaven) Entenman.

Jerry was raised in Blue Bell and has been living in Ambler for over 50 years.  He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church.  He was a Master Electrician and owned and operated Entenman's Electric for 48 years until his recent retirement in August.  He loved Ford Mustangs and owned several throughout his life, he passed on a passion for cars to his son and grandsons and enjoyed attending car shows with them.  He was the lead driver for many years in the Ambler Christmas parade and drove the Grand Marshall in his beloved '66 Mustang convertible. He loved a good home cooked meal and never turned down seconds...or thirds for that matter. He enjoyed slapstick humor, and always had a joke or funny prop to make his company laugh.  He also enjoyed weekend outings  either meeting up for coffee & conversation at Starbucks  or frequenting a local restaurant for dinner & drinks with his many friends.  Most of all, he was a devoted family man. Jerry met Barbara Ann when their families lived near each other as teenagers and they married in 1970. They lived a perfectly simple life, based on the success earned from hard work, a mutual love of their family, the appreciation of a good meal and always making time for fun during their 45 years of marriage.  Jerry was an incredible, supportive father to Eric & Karen,  and they loved talking on the phone with him daily, just catching eachother up on their everyday life.  But mostly, Jerry was a wonderful, engaged Pop Pop to his 6 grandkids. He was so happy when he was around them, they brought him so much joy & they made him beam with pride.  He adored his family & appreciated his friendships, many of which spanned decades. Jerry was never known to utter a negative word about anyone, he was a source of positivity, support and encouragement to so many & a role model as well.  Jerry will be missed by all that knew him, he was one of a kind .

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Barbara Ann (Smith) Entenman.

He is survived by his son, Eric (Meghan) Entenman of Harleysville, PA; daughter, Karen Harris of North Wales, PA; sister, Marie Entenman (Joan Merlo) of Lewes, DE; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Entenman of Norristown and Susan (Geno) Pellechio of Blue Bell; six grandchildren, Reid, Collin, Taylor, Blake, Michael and Kyle; as well as many nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his companion, Mary Militello of Ambler.

Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Entenman and Paul Entenman.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday evening, December 30, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401; and in Church on Tuesday morning, December 31, from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 259 Forest Avenue, Ambler, PA 19002.   Words of Remembrance will follow the viewing at 10:15AM in Church and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM.

Interment will take place in Boehm's United Church Of Christ  Cemetery, Blue Bell, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Anthony of Padua Church at the above address.
