My first holiday without my mother to spend time with, although she was very quiet. I filled the room with my voice and stories of the rest of the family. She was often in much pain while walking w/her walker, and even w/4 -5 yrs of PT, she could only negotiate one step. So for at least last 10 years, we had to spend our holidays in mom's hse, couldn't leave her alone due to falls she might have if I wasn't watching her. Even when I was, and she would sneak off while I was napping. She struggled w/so much more, it's a blessing that GOD relieved her of her suffering. She was a very strong woman. What broke her in the end was Jeanine's death. My mom started to refuse taking some meds, lost her appetite, very despondent. Unconsolable. I brought in a counselor & a grief social worker w/in the next day of the news. But my mother didn't want to interchange with either of them. They both came back twice, then left it up to my mom to contact them for help. PLEASE say prayers for my mother & sister that they meet again in Heaven. Thank you. Love to all, Kathleen Grant

Barbara and I went to grade school and high school together. Our mothers were close friends. Barbara was my maid of honor. I was in her wedding also I am godmother to Kathy. We lost contact after her divorce. I did not know Jeanine had died. I have so many memories of her. She was the school mascot and was in the band with me. I would love to hear from Kathy and Eddie. 'They may not remember me. Last I heard Kathy was on Hector street in her grandmothers home. My thoughts are with you in your loss.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories of my mother, Aunt BethAnn! I had fond memories of you always as my dutiful godmother! My mom & I spoke of you often, & because my mom was shy of sorts, she told me that she wouldn't have survived marching w/the band & twirling the baton if it wasn't for all of your tutelage, motivation & friendship! Alas, we lost touch w/many after the marital rift as that can be the way. I did move around quite a bit, in PA. Landed back in C'Ville w/Mom-18 yrs
