Joe has been living in Trappe since 1980, formerly of the Kensington section of Philadelphia. He was a member of Saint Eleanor Church of Collegeville. Joe served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He had a long career as a Corrections Officer at SCI Graterford and retired as a Lieutenant. Joe then went to work at the Montgomery County District Justice's Office.

Obituary of Joseph A. Roche

Joseph A. Roche, 71, of Trappe, PA passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018. Born in Philadelphia on September 17, 1947, and a graduate of Roman Catholic High School, Joseph has been living in Trappe since 1980. He was a long time member of Saint Eleanor Church of Collegeville. Joseph served honorably as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He had a long career as a Corrections Officer at SCI Graterford, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. He then worked at the Montgomery County District Justice's Office. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, driving his Cadillac, testing his luck at Valley Forge Casino, watching the Philadelphia sports teams and cheering on the Duke Blue Devils. His loving survivors include his wife: Lorraine Roche of Trappe; his two daughters: Ashley Roche of Perkiomenville & fiancee Paul Sell, Stacey Palopoli & husband James of Audubon; sister: Elizabeth Gallagher; granddaughter: Emily Palopoli, and one grandchild on the way as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Francis and Dorothea, two sisters, Dorothy Mitchell and Joan Bucci; and his brother, William Roche. His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Eleanor's RC Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church. Interment will be in Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to: DAV – Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
