Alberta has lived in Conshohocken all of her life. She was an active member of The First Baptist Church at Conshohocken, where she had been a member since 1939. Alberta graduated from Conshohocken High School, class of 1942. She worked as a billing clerk with Bentley-Harris Manufacturing.
