Joseph has been a resident of Norristown since 1962, formerly of 5th St. in Bridgeport. He was a member of Saint Paul's RC Church of Norristown. Joseph had a long career at Philco Ford of Lansdale and was a member of the United Auto Workers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Joseph loved his dog Sandy and most of all was a proud grandfather.

Obituary of Joseph Boccella, Sr.

Joseph Boccella, Sr., 81, of Norristown, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. He was born in the town of Avellino in Naples, Italy on January 2, 1936, the son of the late Angelo Michele and Melinda (Melillo) Boccella. Joseph has been a resident of Norristown since 1962, formerly of 5th St. in Bridgeport. He was a member of Saint Paul's RC Church of Norristown. Joseph had a long career at Philco Ford of Lansdale and was a member of the United Auto Workers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Joseph loved his hunting dog Sandy, and most of all was a proud grandfather. Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Gina Boccella (nee Bacino) of Norristown; son, Michael A. ( & Sue) Boccella of Lower Pottsgrove; daughter, Sylvana ( & Chris) Cottone of Wayne; son, Joseph ( & Jennifer) Boccella, Jr. of Collegeville; four sisters, Mafalda Nazzaro, Maria Iuliano, Viola Badalamenti, and Fortuna DiBussulo, all of Bridgeport; brother, Anthony Boccella of Bridgeport; eight grandchildren, Dylan, Payton, Isabelle, Joseph III, Samuel, Benjamin, Michael Jr., and Roman; As well as 22 nieces and nephews here in the states as well as Italy. Along with his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Boccella and sister, Carmela Boccella. His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM from the St. Paul RC Church, 2007 New Hope St., Norristown, PA 19401. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 9:45AM at the church. Entombment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton.
