Obituary of Joachim J. "Jack" Russo

oachim J. "Jack" Russo, 75, of Collegeville, PA passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Norristown, PA on January 24, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ann (Calabrese) Russo and the devoted husband of 53 years to Dale W. (Warhurst) Russo. Jack lived in Collegeville for over 43 years, and was formerly of West Norriton, PA. He was a member of St. Eleanor's RC Church of Collegeville, serving as a representative of the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. He was a member of the Norristown Catholic War Veterans Post 1182. Jack was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School and Villanova University. He served as a sergeant in the US Air Force. He was senior vice president of real estate management with Brandywine Financial in Chadds Ford, PA. An avid golfer, he was a member of Brookside Country Club and enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in North Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a dedicated Philadelphia Phillies and Villanova basketball fan. Jack enjoyed family dinners and get-togethers, spending time with friends, but his most enjoyable moments were spent attending the sporting events and school functions of his grandsons. In addition to his wife, Dale, Jack is survived by a son, Richard J. "Rick" (& Sherri) Russo of Royersford PA; a daughter, Jaclyn R. "Jaci" (& Scott) Miley of Skippack PA; and three grandsons he adored, Jake Miley, Nick Miley, and Jack Russo. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Gallo of Blue Bell PA; his brother Kenneth "Rudy" Russo of Sanatoga PA; and his sister Janice Rudisill of West Chester PA. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas J. Russo. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the St. Eleanor's RC Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the church.
