Obituary of Miriam Ortlieb

Miriam (Van Zandt) Ortlieb, 96, of Blue Bell PA passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday August 3, 2017.
She was the loving wife of the late Andrew T. Ortlieb for 65 years.
Born in Philadelphia on February 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late George and Loretta (Smith) Van Zandt.
A longtime Blue Bell resident, she was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church.
She will be sadly missed by her children Andrea (Daniel) Angelucci, Terence (Sheri) Ortlieb, Karen (Richard) Olivastro, Polly (Peter) Schumacher, Lisa (Tony) D'Amelio, Sally (David) Birks, Andrew (Nid) Ortlieb; 13 Grandchildren, 6 Step Granchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.

Miriam was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Marcy and her cherished granddaughter Amy Olivastro.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers George and Tom Van Zandt.

Miriam loved card games, whether it was beating her late husband constantly at gin rummy or challenging her greatgrandchildren in games of Go Fish and Crazy Eights. She was a master at Scrabble and even mastered Words with Friends when she was in her 90’s. But, what she enjoyed most was one on one conversations  with her children, grandchildren and her greatgrandchildren
